Lisavaird National School has always promoted a healthy active lifestyle. The school provides a spacious area for all students to play before school and during lunch breaks. Our classes engage in the Move Well Move Often Programme during Physical Education classes, promoting the development of physical literacy.

In addition to this, the children engage in swimming lessons as well as lessons in a variety of sports such as GAA, Rugby and Rowing. We participate annually in the Sciath na Scol GAA competitions, The FAI 5-a-side soccer Blitz and the Cork City Sports Athletics Competitions. In 2018, the girls team won the school’s first Sciath na Scol competition, and in 2019, the boys followed it up with our second.

In 2019, we were awarded the school’s first ever Active Flag. Click on the link to read more about the Active School’s Programme.
